A Coffee Machine Buying Guide

There is a diverse assortment of coffee machines available on the market from many manufactures with an amazing variation in price. If you are looking to buy a coffee machine, think about the kind of coffee you would like to make and drink and how often you plan to use the machine.

Filter Coffee Machines

Filter coffee machines work by cold water being poured into the water reservoir which is then heated to boiling point and drips through the loose ground coffee and filter into the jug below. The jugs are either made of glass and sit on a hot plate or are vacuum flasks.

A basic filter coffee maker; the Delonghi ICM2B retails for around 19 Franks. It makes a maximum of 10 cups of coffee at any one time and saves you money by including a permanent coffee filter to eradicate the need of using the disposable filters.

The Siemens TC911P2GB is a top of the range filter coffee maker which retails for around 145 Franks. Making a maximum of 8 cups at any one time it includes a vacuum flask to keep the coffee hotter for longer and prevents the coffee tasting stewed. It also includes an aroma retaining lid enabling the coffee to be poured without fully opening the lid and preventing the loss of flavour or heat. Beautifully styled and engineered by F.A. Porsche this coffee machine is finished in brushed steel.

Espresso Coffee Machines

Espresso coffee makers work by either pump or steam and therefore bar pressure is an important factor - the higher the pressure the better the coffee. Pump machines produce a better quality, nicer tasting drink and therefore tend to be more expensive; however there is still a variation in prices between the different models. Only the pump machines are able to produce a Crema.

The Magimix 11259 retails at around 120 Franks. With 19 bars of pressure the Magimix uses the increasingly popular Nespresso capsules and innovative technology to ensure a higher quality cup of coffee every time. It can make 20 cups of espresso and includes an aeroccino ideal for making cappuccinos and lattes.

Retailing at around 365 Franks the Francis Francis XI has a lovely unique retro finish it is available in light blue, almond, red and black. With 15 bars of pressure it makes a maximum of 50 cups of espresso and includes a milk frothing arm for making cappuccinos. For optimum versatility this machine can either take freshly ground coffee or espresso pod coffee.

Combination Coffee Machines

Combination coffee makers are able to brew a traditional pot of coffee as well as make espressos and cappuccinos. These units are normally slightly larger and more expensive than a single use machines.

The Morphy Richards 47010 retails at around 59 Franks. This machine produces a cup of coffee in 8 minutes using fresh loose ground coffee only. To suit all tastes you can manually customise the strength of your drink. The milk frothing arm uses fresh milk from the carafe to make cappuccinos and lattes. The carafe can be cleaned at the touch of a button and stored in the fridge when not in use.

A bean to cup coffee machine - the Krups XP2000 retails at around 137 Franks but it also includes a pod system for a no mess, no fuss easy coffee making option. The cost of making a cup of coffee with this machine varies between 8p and 26p. The 15 bars of pressure ensure that a quality cup of coffee can be made in less than 1 minute - with no fuss. A nice little extra is the cup warming tray - helping to keep your coffee warmer for longer.

There are a considerable number of coffee machines on the market so make sure that you identify the features and functionality that you consider most important early on. This will help you vastly reduce your shopping time.

Commercial Coffee Machines: Why Buy Online

When you buy a commercial coffee machine, you want to get the most reliable machine that produces the best-quality coffee possible- and of course you want this at the lowest price! These days it tends to be preferable to buy coffee machines online, rather than taking the more traditional route of buying from a catalogue or in person: buying online is faster, easier, and you can access all the information you need to make an informed decision and buy the most suitable machine for your business.

There are several different types of coffee machine on the market- the main types being traditional espresso machines, cappuccino machines and automatic 'bean-to-cup' machines. On top of this, different machines come with different features and extras, so it is important when buying your coffee machine that you know exactly what you are looking for. For example, what type of machine do you need? Cappuccino machines are ideal if you want people to serve themselves, but if you are going to serve the coffee for them you might want to look at an espresso machine.

Then there are the more specific questions to consider: for example, if you are buying an espresso machine, how many cups are you going to need to make at once? Basic coffee machines make only one cup at a time, however there are machines that enable you to have six or more cups on the go- perfect if you are going to need to cater for large numbers of people simultaneously.

With all this to consider, it is no wonder that people are opting to buy their coffee machines online: who needs to go from store to store when you can find out all about- and buy- your machine at the touch of a button? So get online, get informed and get buying!

An Espresso Cappuccino Machine - Is it the Best Coffee Making Machine For Your Home?

In Western countries waking up in the morning include a hot cup of steaming coffee, whether it is taken with or without milk, sugar or creamer. In fact, some people may even feel that they cannot function properly in a day without having their first cup of coffee. It is true, coffee does give you that often required kick start to a day but has also been a drink which has found its place into many environments, whether you are having a social drink with a friend at the coffee shop around the corner, sipping it down during the boardroom meeting at work or just enjoying a 'cuppa' by yourself. The fact is that wherever you go, you will most likely find a coffee making machine in every kitchen.

The invitation phrase "Would you like to go for coffee?" is so familiar (and it is even used even if you do not consume coffee) as it is more than just coffee you get. The aromatic smells and flavors that come with drinking a cup, or being in a location wrapped up with the aroma already brings positive connotations to the whole idea as it sets you at ease. So many variations of coffee are available, but if your coffee is enjoyed in more of an Italian style then it usually means that you have to go out to a coffee shop or restaurant to still your craving for a Latte, Espresso or Cappuccino.

The good news is that you no longer have to have a kettle, a normal coffee making machine, in your home. The demand for appliances, such as an espresso cappuccino machine, which can provide your favorite hot drink, has flooded the market in various stylish designs and sizes. What makes the price tag so impressive is that you now only need one coffee making machine to produce an espresso, cappuccino & latte. These 'espresso cappuccino machines' as we will call them, usually comes in two categories, electrical or non-electrical and which includes your moka & filter brewer. Your choice of coffee making machine is further expanded by a choice of a pump driven espresso cappuccino machine, which will lighten the heart of the coffee drinker who prefers the 'traditional method' of making espresso.

Other options include steam or piston powered devices in automatic, semi-automatic and even super automatic machines. You will also be glad to know that most of the modern espresso cappuccino machines have built-in refrigerators who clean and rinse the tubing and heads automatically without you having to strip any of the parts - ideal for those individuals who need to focus their time on more important facets in life. Most machines also has a fitted bin in which the used beans are discarded into and also can be sourced with a single or double foamer head which will allow two cups to be filled at the same time.
