Kenmore Series 80 Washer - What You Should Know Before Buying

The Kenmore series 80 washer happens to be much deeper in its dimensions than it is wide meaning that the user must really lean into the very bowels of the machine in order to recover their laundry. This is a problem that is especially acute for consumers who are rather short, and many have devised a rather quirky and novel way of resolving this flaw: they keep a pair of tongs at the ready in order to allow them to get the necessary purchase to seize their clothing.

Please also be aware that because the Kenmore series 80 washer happens to be a top loader machine, this means that there is a slight chance that your clothing may get snagged within the agitator of the machine and if this is left unresolved then it will cause the machine to make a dreadful stuttering sound and can interfere with its proper functioning. Thankfully, whilst this is a potential issue, it is one that does not rear its ugly head too often and should not be cause for too much concern and it is a "problem" that can be easily resolved with quick action.

On a slighter more sinister note, there have been an increasing number of disgruntled consumers who have purchased the Kenmore series 80 washer and encountered an all too common technical fault with it: a faulty Interface Relay which has proven to be a most bothersome malfunction indeed. You may balk at the idea of having to pay out even more of your hard earned cash for the warranty coverage, but the problem is seemingly too common for it not to be ignored by the consumer, but not commonplace enough for the producers to actually recall the product. If you want to avoid this most perplexing lottery, hedge your bets and take out the warranty.

Criticisms have also been lodged against the producers of the Kenmore series 80 washer as a recent cost cutting exercise that they initiated: in order to reduce expenses, many of the internal components used to create the Kenmore series 80 washer have been replaced with plastic parts which have been reported as being much more susceptible to breaking down, breaking off, and generally wearing out sooner than they should.

All of these faults are petty individually, but when taken in aggregate detract from an otherwise very competent and well designed product indeed. This is a tremendous pity indeed because one cannot help but feel that the Kenmore series 80 washer has let itself down rather badly for when it works it works fantastic, but when it fails...it fails in a grand fashion it seems.

On a more positive note, the Kenmore series 80 washer has been commended for the number of different cycle options it provides the consumer with, and by extension then, the remarkable degree of flexibility that they can enjoy as a direct result of that. Not only can the user actually choose the type of cycle that they want (and trust me, you really are spoilt for choice indeed) but you also have the luxury of determining in a very precise manner, the actual duration of the spin cycles as well.

The heavy duty cycle setting is especially noteworthy. I myself had thrown in an entire week's worth of dirty denims and then left the machine to chew through that particular payload. I had a degree of trepidation before it finished, worried that I had overburdened the poor machine too much. Imagine my relief and surprise then when I was presented with my freshly laundered denims which were in pristine condition and thoroughly cleaned inside and out. Not a stain in sight!

The Kenmore series 80 washer won't win any prizes for its looks, and it certainly isn't the prettiest of home appliances around. It has its flaws, and it does have a propensity to break down. On the whole however, the Kenmore series 80 washer is a solid workhorse of a machine, and can take a significant amount of punishment and with just a little tender loving care you will be able to enjoy more than a few years worth of usage from it.
